Will Someone Please Buy My Home?
The housing market is many areas around the United States has seen a huge decline in home sales along with people who can no longer afford their homes. This leaves so many home owners thinking, “Will someone please buy my home?” Is there an easier way to get someone to buy your home? While there is no easy way to get your home sold there are a few tips that can help you sell your home quickly over those in your area, simply by the feeling people get when they walk into your home. Let’s take a closer look at these tips.
Tip #1: Make the home appeal to everyone
While living in your home you have done several things to make the home cozier to you. For some people your idea of cozy is their idea of clutter. Get rid of the clutter. Pack it up since your getting ready to move anyways, why not start packing? You should also make sure that each room will appeal to both genders. In the master bedroom remove the frilly, pink lace and replace it with fresh, fluffy, simple bedding in a neutral color. This will make the room feel inviting for both a man and a woman.
Tip #2: Make prospective home buyers feel welcomed
By opening up the curtains and turning on the lights I am giving my home a sense of warmth from the minute prospective home buyers walk through the door. The way buyers feel the minute they enter is usually how they will feel the entire time they are in my home. I want them to desire to buy my home, so I strive to make them feel as welcomed as possible.
Tip #3: Appeal to their senses
When showing my home one key thing I do in hopes of setting the stage for someone to buy my home is to appeal to all their senses. Visually things should be very clean but also have a welcome home feel. Don’t hesitate to place vases of fresh flowers or bowls filled with beautiful fresh fruit around the house. Be careful not to go over board though, you want them to see the beautiful touches but remember the great house. Also appeal to the sense of touch. Make your home feel as though they can come right in and sit down. Avoid having to many pillows on the couch or blankets laid of the chair. This will cause them to feel stiff and not at home. One more thing you should do is appeal to their sense of smell. Everyone loves the smell of fresh baked cookies or fresh baked bread when they walk into a home. It takes them back to wonderful memories and turns this house into their home. While you might not be able to bake a loaf of bread or batch of cookies for every showing there are now candles that smell just like you did. Let your realtor in on your secret and make sure she lights the candle prior to showing your home.
Getting someone to buy my house can be an uphill battle but it can be done. Follow these simple tips and watch as the plea of “Will someone please buy my home” turns into a shout of joy, “My house is sold!”
